November 30 - December 2, 2007PARIS

Our KATS and KITTENS visited Paris (Tennessee) and had a wonderful time.  We celebrated a belated kitten birthday - Lady Siamese Kat (Debbie) - so we each gave her a big MEOW birthday wish!

We rented two cabins for the weekend at Paris Landing State Park.  The cabins were nestled in the woods and had beautiful views of Kentucky Lake from every room.  Raccoons came right up to our door.  The first night, after a late dinner at the Inn, Cabin 6 (Kountess Katnip, Dutchess AristaKat, Sassy Kat Woman, Lady Siamese Kat, and Miss Kitty) invited us to a night of fun at their cabin.  We broke off in two teams and were given tissue paper and 15 minutes to pick a model from our group and dress them using just tape and tissue paper.  Lady Felina volunteered (lol) to be the model for Cabin 7 and was dressed in a beautiful peasant look (copied from Vera Wang).  Cabin 7 chose Sassy Kat Woman to be their model and the group designed a gorgeous Princess Prom dress.  After lots of laughs (Lady Jag-U-R could not stop laughing) a winner had to be picked of the two dresses.  Of course the vote was 4 to 4 (we all were so trying to be fair (not).  We all had such great time visiting.  Kountess Katnip taught us nice phrases to use instead of saying bad words, “Shut the front door”, “I don’t give a dill pickle” and “What the French toast!”.

The next morning Cabin 6 invited us for a delicious full course breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage links, and French toast.  After this huge breakfast we decided to take a hike through the Park.  We also went to the Arts and Crafts Show at the Park.  Then we headed off to Paris for more shopping and site-seeing.  We stopped at Memorial Park and took several pictures of the Eiffel Tower (60ft. replica of the real thing).   All the children in the park wanted to play with us as we were having such a great time!  We visited Trees on the Square which got every in the Holiday spirit after walking thru a Wonderland of Christmas Trees displayed by local business, churches and organizations.  After seeing we were a Red Hat group, the man at the door said he did not want any trouble from us!  He was so nice and took lots of group pictures.  We voted for our favorite tree and then headed to the shops.

Cabin 7 (Queen Cleopurrrtra, Lady Jag-U-R, Princess ApriKat and Lady Felina) delivered a personalized invitation to “Bet on a Fun Time” and join them for an evening of food and fun at a Red Hat Katsino.  The cabin was decorated in a Katsino theme.  Kats and Kittens were given $100,000 (play money of course).  After enjoying homemade veggie soup, grilled ham, turkey, cheese sandwiches on homemade bread, and lots of desserts it was time to spend our money.  We had such fun playing Roulette, Blackjack, Poker and Bingo.  After the games, an auction was held.  A pair of pink (used) socks went for $500,000 and a Panda Bear throw went for 1,000,000+ dollars.  (Lady Jag-U-R and Lady Siamese Kat got in a bidding war which was hilarious).  We also played Dirty Santa and watched lots of sports on TV.   Ms. Kitti had the most fun of all.  She stayed in Cabin 6 where she was pampered and petted all weekend.  She also met a MAN!  We caught her in bed with Santa (omg).

The next morning we all had breakfast together at the Inn and agreed this was the best weekend and it needed to continue to be an annual event.  We want to try and visit a different State Park each year.  Sadly, it was time to head back home.

A GIANT MEOW, MEOW to everyone for making this outing such fun.  We all laughed so much and had a great time.
