July 17, 2010 – An afternoon at the FRIST Center

Baroness Von Meow planned a day at the FRITZ (lol) and of course lunch.  It was such fun exploring (# 17 your tour is ready, lol) the dramatic, organic shapes and brilliantly colored forms created by Dale Chiluly in his glass sculptures exhibit.  We also enjoyed strolling through The Golden Age of Couture: Paris and London 1947-1957 where we admired the elegant apparel, dazzling accessories, and glamorous designs of postwar Paris and London.  We wrapped up our morning by visiting the exhibition Presence or Absence: Photographs of Tokihiro Sato and discovered ways he uses light to link ideas of time, space and motion in his photography.

After an amazing morning we headed to Taco Mamacita (#17 your food is ready, lol) where we enjoyed delicious made-from-scratch, super-fresh, totally tasty eats and drinks in a fun, laid-back setting (even though the smoke alarm kept going off).  The Baroness had us the neatest gift bag filled with socks, candy, pad and pen, headband, and ice cream cone bubbles.  AWESOME.  Thanks for spoiling us.
