Burdett's Tea Shop and Trading Company

July 19, 2008Dutchess AristaKat (Amy) was our “Queen for the Day” and planned a wonderful litter outing.  We met in Springfield at the Riverside Farm market where we purchased lots of fresh veggies.  We then headed to Burdett’s Tea Room which is located just off the court house square.  Built in 1913, this building has served many diverse functions (a jail cell, shooting gallery and women’s clothes shop).  It is probably best remembered as the McCord and Harris Drug Store. It reminded us of an Old English tearoom.  We enjoyed a delicious lunch of salads, sandwiches, quiche and homemade scones. Yum Yum.  The fruit tea was ‘to die for’!  We then headed to the Springfield Museum for a tour.

We celebrated a special birthday for Princess ApriKat (Barbara), MEOW.

Live, Laugh

and

Love

Dutchess AristaKat had each of us the cutest Little Miss Muffet Bag filled with lots of goodies and the sweetest card that said “I’m smiling because you’re my sister, I’m laughing because you can’t do anything about it” A great big hug and MEOW to Dutchess AristaKat for planning such a fun filled day.  All us Kats and Kittens had more fun than playing with a ball of string.
