July 16, 2005 – Cages Bend Campground

If you missed this outing you really missed out on some fun!!  Lady Felina pampered us all day with special surprises.  The day started with a boat ride to the campground where Lady Felina and Queen Cleo greeted everyone with a flower lei.  Even Lady Felina’s puppies wore the cutest pink and red leis.  The campground was decorated to a tee in our gang colors of course.  It was so nice to be able to go in the huge RV and cool off and potty.

In attendance today:  Queen Cleo (Faye), Miss Kitty (Miss Kitty), Lady Felina (Vivian), Princess Kalico Kitty (Jean), Lady SophistaKat (Tracey), Princess Pink Panther (Brenda), Kountess Katnip (Samantha), Sassy Kat Woman (Shawn), and Dutchess AristiKat (Amy).  First, we gave a big MEOW to Lady SophistaKat (Tracey) for a belated birthday wish.

This was the big day where our Kats and Kittens pledged their vows and became official Red Hat members.  Princess Kalico Kitty read the “Ode to the Red Hat Society” poem and turned the meeting over to Lady Felina who swore in Queen Cleopurrrtra.   Then all the Kats and Kittens read “Ode to the Queen”.  Lady Felina then lit the “Flame of Friendship” candle.  Next, all the red/pink hat sister’s red vows and took their individual pledges.  Queen Cleo sprinkled them with Happy Dust so they will not forget to be silly and have fun.  They each then lit a red/pink small candle from the Flame of Friendship.  After a toast to our new Sisterhood (with our special red hat wine glasses) the individual candles were extinguished by Princess Kalico Kitty.   Lady Felina then extinguished the “Flame of Friendship”.

After the coronation, the fun began.  Amy, Brenda and Shawn had a blast riding the Jet Ski while the other Kats and Kittens watched!  A leisurely cruise down the lake in the pontoon boat was enjoyed.  All the beautiful homes at Fairvue Plantation were spectacular to see.  Of course, Amy and Brenda took time out for another thrilling Jet Ski ride – really showing off for us this time.

Back at camp we enjoyed a feast of bar-b-que, potato salad, and baked beans.  Lady Felina really outdid herself – all the serving dishes, cups, plates, etc. were purple and red.  For dessert, it was only the best for us Kats and Kittens, homemade ice cream with homemade dessert tray of cookies and brownies.

Lady Felina wrapped up the day with special gift bags.  A big MEOW goes to Tony and Don (hubby’s) for all their help in making this day special for us.  And a huge MEWOW to Lady Felina who did a great job planning this outing.

Princess Purrfect Kitti (Christi) just had her tonsils taken out and was not well enough to attend.  Hope you are feeling better real soon.
