THE PARTHENON - June 23, 2007
Sassy Kat Woman (Shawn) was our “Queen” for the day and
invited us to go Greek. Others Kats and
Kittens who came to play were Queen Cleo (Faye), Kountess Katnip (Samantha),
Lady Siamese Kat (Debbie), Baroness Von Meow (Linda), Dutchess Artistakat
(Amy), and of course Ms. Kitti. We
celebrated two Birthdays today, Sassy Kat Woman and Queen Cleo, MEOW, MEOW.
The Parthenon is an incredible phenomenon. It stands proudly as the centerpiece of Centennial Park. The recreation of
the 42-foot statue Athena is the focus of the Parthenon just as it was in
ancient Greece. The building and the
Athena statue are both full-scale replicas of the Athenian originals. It was
built for the Tennessee Centennial
Celebration. We also enjoyed looking at
all the Art displayed. After a tour, we
headed to lunch at Tabouli’s on Belmont. This was more than a Greek Restaurant, they
also served Italian food. The ambiance
was great, with painted wallpaper that looked like bricks and paintings of a
greco-looking landscape on the walls. We were excited to eat some Greek or
other Mediterranean fare. The food was
delicious and we had such large helpings that we all asked for a “Kitti
Bag”. Of course our Sassy Kat Woman had
2 for 1 coupons which made it even better!!! Thanks Sassy Kat Woman for planning such a fun and unique
outing for us. It was just Purrrrfect!!
