Lady
Glitter of the Litter (Sue) was our “Queen for the Day” and planned a wonderful
time for us at the Belle Meade Plantation which is a 30 acre historic site west of Nashville. The centerpiece of the property is the
Belle Meade mansion built in 1853. This Greek revival house was home to
five generations of the Harding-Jackson family, and served as a thoroughbred
nursery farm famous for breeding and training championship race horses.
Racing legends like Secretariat can trace their bloodlines back to the breeding
stock at Belle Meade.
After
a tour of the Victorian Mansion, we enjoyed fine dining at Martha’s at the Plantation. The food
was great, the atmosphere was marvelous and the company was awesome. We all enjoyed meeting Lady Glitter’s
daughter and daughter-in-law (the Vickie’s) who came to play with us today
(please come again). We also celebrated
a birthday for Lady Glitter – MEOW. It was such fun spending this rainy afternoon
with our Fristers.
Lady Glitter had each of us a special Easter bag filled with assorted
chocolates and dainty tissues to clean up with – YUM YUM.
Growing old is mandatory, but
Growing up is optional!!
A huge MEOW to Lady Glitter for planning such a special day.
