  SCHERMERHORN SYMPHONY CENTER

Lady SophistaKat (Tracey) was our “Queen for the Day” and planned a tour of Schermerhorn Symphony Center, named in honor of the late Maestro Kenneth Schermerhorn who led the Nashville Symphony for 22 years.  Other KATS and KITTENS who came to enjoy the day were: Queen Cleopurrrtra (Faye), Ms.Kitty (Ms. Kitty), Princess Pink Panther (Brenda), Kountess Katnip (Samantha), Sassy Kat Woman (Shawn), Dutchess AristaKat (Amy), Princess ApriKat (Barbara), and Baroness Von Meow (Linda).   We celebrated belated birthdays for Kountess Katnip and Dutchess AristaKat MEOW, MEOW.  Lady SophistaKat had each of us a glow in the dark green bracelet in honor of St. Patty’s Day (she didn’t want us to get pinched). “Queen Cleo” got a special green and white corsage.

The design of Schermerhorn Symphony Center was inspired by some of the world’s great concert halls, many of which were built in Europe in the late 19th century.  The 1,860-seat Laura Turner Concert Hall is one of the few halls nationwide to feature natural interior light through 30 special soundproof windows. The seats are distributed over three levels.  Designed to present a variety of musical genres, including classical, pops, cabaret, choral, jazz and blues performances, the hall provides vivid acoustical clarity catering to the sound of natural instruments.  We need to come back to enjoy one of the fabulous performances.

After the tour we headed down the street to step back in time at the Past Perfect restaurant.  .Designed as a turn-of-the-century Chicago tavern, with its long stretch of bar and very casual atmosphere, the menu offered great wraps, salads and burgers for some very hungry Kats and Kittens.

Lady SophistaKat had each of us a gift bag which was filled with delicious candies, pencils, books, and other assorted items.  Thank you Lady SophistaKat for planning such a fun and unique St. Patrick’s Day outing for us – it was just Purrrrrfect!!

Irish Blessings

May the light always find you on a dreary day,
When you need to be home may you find your way.
May you always have a course to take a chance,
And never find frogs in your underpants.

Wishing you a Rainbow
For sunlight after showers-

Miles and miles of Irish smiles
For golden happy hours-
Shamrocks at your doorway
For luck and laughter too,
And a host of friends that never ends
Each day your whole life through!

Well I've been a wild kitty for many's the year,
And I found a nice pub that serves milk mixed with beer.
This makes me quite happy, so I'll purr with galore.
Cuz I never will be a wild kitty no more.
