January 25, 2008 LONG HOLLOW JAMBOREE
Princess Aprikat invited us to the Long
Hollow Jamboree in Goodlettsville for a night of food and fun. The Jamboree started as a jam session at a
neighborhood grocery in the mid 70’s and grew into the most popular old-time
jamboree in Nashville. It was wonderful family
(and Red Hatters) entertainment with its smoke/alcohol free environment and great
home cooked southern fare.
The evening started off with a delicious soul food buffet. Everything was so good. Then Tresa Street and Street Talk Band started
playing. It was such fun watching the
square dancing, two-step and line dancing.
Even though the Queen Mother Kat was trying to keep her kittens out of
trouble by telling the locals that we were all lesbians, our KATS and KITTENS
still got asked several times to dance. Preacher Jones really enjoyed dancing with our
KATS. He was quite a dancer!! The Jamboree is known for attracting country
music stars and entertainers. Tonight
was no exception – ELVIS was spotted in the building. Before the night was over ELVIS got on stage
and sang several beautiful songs.
KITTENS, he still has all the moves that he did in his day!!! (Just a
little slower) Several KATS and KITTENS
got their picture made with ELVIS, but Ms. Kitti got
the best seat, roflmao.
We celebrated a belated birthday tonight, a big MEOW to Baroness
Von Meow.
Princess ApriKat made us all feel so special. She had each of us the cutest red/pink bandana
with lots of cool surprises wrapped inside (candy, gloves and cute socks). It
was fun spending time together on a Friday night to just relax, laugh and chit
chat. Everyone at the Jamboree was so
nice to us that we felt like celebrities.
Thank you so much Princess ApriKat it was all so purrrrrfect!!!
