The Perry & Webb Families of Tennessee and Kentucky

Notes

William Weakley

No record was found in Virginia of William Weakley except his marriage.
The first record of William Weakley in Tennessee was on Jan. 19, 1801, when he and others were with Samuel Suggs, Surveyor, of the road from Weakley's Ferry, to Robertson County Court House, as far as Sugar Fork of Spring Creek...
In the war of 1812 against Britian, William Weakley, was private from June 20, 1814 to March 8, 1815 in the 1st Regiment, Tenn. Militia, under Capt. John Strother and Col. Phillips Pipkins, from Montgomery Co, Tenn.
On July 16, 1816 William Weakley was issued letters of Administration for Robert Weakley Jr. deceased. Mark Chambliss, Phillip Russell, John Weakley were bondsmen. (Montg. minutes 7 p 59 and will B p 352)

Joseph Weakley

Joseph Weakley enlisted as a private on Sept. 24, 1813 in a cavalry and mounted gunmen company in Montg. Co. Tenn. and was promoted on Oct. 16, 1813 to corporal. He was in the company of Capt. Joseph Williams and Regiment of Col. R.H. Dyers and was mustered out of service on Dec. 23, 1813.

Records are made doubly confusing because Joseph and Josiah are used interchangeably in several records.

With the meager information available it seems that Joseph Weakley lived for a time in Madison Co. Tenn. and Dyer Co. Tenn. Goodspeed's History of Dyer Co p 843 says: "Early settlers in the county were --- Joseph Weakley ---".

No records are available to tell what became of Joseph. (see section C 2-4)
