1/20/1818 Mobile Al. James married Sarahann PARKER born 1823 Covington
Miss. The birth of their first two children Christiana 1847 and John 1849
was in Miss. James moved his family to Texas in 1850 where the other
children were born, William H 1850, James Riley Jr. 1851, Thomas
Jefferson 1853,Obediah 1855, Mary E 1857 and Eliza 1860. After the birth
of Eliza the family moved to Acadia Parish Louisiana where James and
Sarahann both died in 1896. Any infromation on this family will be
appreciated.

In 1880 Obadiah was living with the Joseph Robert and Sarah
DelphineParker family in Hecker , Louisiana. Sarah was probably his
cousin and he had come from Texas tofind work in the timber industry.
Much of the timber was coming from the Barnes Creek area of what is now
southwest Allen Parish. Obadiah married into theAirhart family in that
area. The Alexander homestead ap pears to have been just north of Camp
Pearl.

Mrs. Mary Alexander,resident of Bel for 72 years, died today.
Mrs. Mary Rosie Alexander, 79, diedat her home at Bel, at noon today.
She was born August 3. 1862, at Natchitoches but moved to Belwhen she was
seven years of age and had lived there sincethat time. Survivors are six
sons, George and Calvin Alexander of Bel; William Alexander of Buna ,
Texas; James and Case Alexander of Dayton, Texas;and Ebb Alexander of
Sulfur , La.; one daughter, Mrs Emmie May Malone of Kilgore, Texas; two
sisters, Mrs. Julia Kingrey of Lake Charles and Mrs. Nann Nichols of
DeQuince; three brothers, George, Ebb, and Case Airhartall of Lake
Charles.
Funeral services will be held at 1p.m. Thursday at the Barnes Creek
Cemetery, Rev. J. W . Evans, pastor of the Pentecostal Church,officiating.
