The index of the 1840 Census of North Carolina shows John, Richard, and Thomas Epperson in Person County (Pers 274, 287, and 291), another John and a James Eppirson in Caswell County (Casw 089 and 105), and a Charles Epperson in Tyrrell County (Tyrr 210). Caswell and Person Counties are just across the line from Halifax.

From this we would calculate (MO) Richard Epperson as having been born in approx. 1811 and Nancy W. Epperson (1) as having been born in approx. 1812. Birth year for Sally J. Epperson (2) as having been approx. 1829. Obviously both are the wife of Richard Epperson born in 1811. I have been showing that the parents of Martha Epperson (wife of Micajah Boyd), (VA) Richard and Mary (Stewart) Epperson were born in bef. 1775 and 21 Jun 1772 respectively. With approximately 28 years between birth of (VA) Richard & Mary Epperson and Martha Epperson there must be at least one if not two generations intervening there. I think that the question to me is: "Where are the links to Richard Epperson to Richard Epperson?". The next question is: "How do you make Sally J. Epperson (2) out of Elizabeth Link?". Are there two or three Richard Epperson's here?
