1Marriage record, SAW, (book, photocopy available). "There is a marriage record in Halifax Co on Jan 18, 1855 of Freeman J. Compton to Emily C. Throckmotron. This may have been the same Freman Compton.". These two marriages are on pages 45 and 51 of Bk 3. It is not known whether there were two marriages or a correction of one marriage.
