He was born Sept. 8, 1926, in Clarksville, son of Howard Marable Manning and Bertha Weakly Manning Richardson. He was preceded in death by a son, Steve R. Manning. Mr. Manning was a retired operation foreman for Conwood Corp. He was a member, board member and deacon emeritus of First Christian Church. He was former troop leader of Boy Scout Troop 514 and former TSSAA football official. Survivors include his wife, Ann R. Manning; a son, Patrick H. Manning, Dallas; a daughter, Jan Manning Herndon, Clarksville; a sister, Virginia Wolcott, Hixon; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
