After its frigid 21-year-old history at Metropolitan Stadium in Bloomington, the Vikings moved inside the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome for the 1982 season. Funded initially through the sale of 30-year bonds, the Metrodome's debt was retired 14 years ahead of schedule. Much of the atmosphere in the stadium stems from the Nordic-themed quirks and traditions developed by the team's devoted fan base; indeed, the most-notable accessory is the Helga Hat – a faux-viking helmet with blond braids dangling out the sides. Visitors will hear the Vikings Horn sound and the singing of the team's fight song, "Skol, Vikings" (Skol Vikings! Let's win this game. Skol Vikings! Honor your name) after each score. Members of the Ring of Honor are recognized with a banner on the facade of the upper deck; included are Hall of Famers Fran Tarkenton, Bud Grant, Carl Eller, Ron Yary, Paul Krause, Jim Finks and Alan Page.
